They cut my field!

So there I was, wandering around the beautiful Surrey countryside in my straw hat and heels when I reached my field (I say "my" kind of loosely, but I think of it as mine) and it had gone yellow and been hacked down!! Autumn is definitely coming and I kind of can't wait. It is my favourite season, with the best colours and the best weather- fun to layer but not cold enough to wear a coat.

Appologies for the random shrinking Say in the collage, apparently I cropped them all different sizes!

One thing that I really appreciated at Beach Mission was the number of people who commented on my style. It was really awesome because when I set up this sort-of-not-quite fashion blog, I really wanted to develop my own personal style where I felt happy with most things in my wardrobe and where I actually liked the clothes I wore. I have felt a lot more secure in how I dress and it was really cool that other people noticed this too! You may see a bit more of this hat, too, I found it in Cornwall and bought it with my fatface vouchers. It is a good way of making an outfit look more put together and IMO it works with my hair :)

Something pretty cool to tell you guys tomorrow...

Kate Middleton, eat your heart out.

First of all, an imaginary gold star goes to the person who can tell me where the quote in my post title is from :)

As a present to myself for finishing my exams and because I just really, really wanted them, I bought myself some nude heels. They make your legs look longer and seriously go with anything (another post for another time, eh?) and I seriously lack proper heels which cost more than £3.50 (I am being totally serious, I used to buy the reduced shoes with my staff discount when I worked at the cheapest chop ever!). And as the papers always go on about Kate Middleton's nude shoes, and I love Kate Middleton, I thought I would come up with Kate inspired outfit for you guys :) She always wears lace and regularly wears blue, so I thought it was pretty fitting.

Also, I figured that if I could have gone to Ascot, I totally would have worn this outfit.

Now I am free from exams and college and all things mandatory, I am looking forward to finally getting my sewing machine and being creative for the summer- I have so many projects already written down in a long list :) I hope to share them with you guys!

Have an awesome weekend, I hope the sun is shining wherever you are! (it isn't here!)

Double denim: Yay or Nay?

I don't know what the rules are with double denim. I have never really considered wearing it. Ever. Until today when I chucked on my chambray shirt because it was crazy windy and I was cold. I am not leaving the house today as I am (supposed to be) revising for my exams next week, but just in case I did want to venture out into the big, judgemental world, what way is best to wear double denim? Or should I just save it for cold anti-social revision days?

Happy Father's day!

The most perfect tee ever.

I find it really hard to find decent t-shirts that don't make me look chunky. I'm one of those in-between people who isn't skinny enough to be able to wear too baggy tees because they make me look bigger than I am, but yet tight tees aren't flattering either. And then I found this tee in H&M by pure accident. And somehow the fit is perfect. It isn't plain jersey, it has a very slight chevron pattern on it and I love it. Seriously, look how versatile it is!

With a black maxi skirt, loose or tucked in and belted.

With a shorter skirt, dressed up with a blazer or tucked in with a fancy necklace.

Over a dress, tied or loose.

Tucked in at the front with cropped jeans.

With coloured skinnies and a floral head scarf.

Simply with jeans, dressed up with a mint under-shirt and a fancy necklace.

And it even works dressed up with a blazer and turquoise maxi skirt!

In fact, I loved it so much that when I went to London, I deliberately went and bought a black one! Let's face it, sooner or later I would have needed another tee and I will never be able to find one as awesome as this!

I was going to put a link to it on the H&M website, but it's sold out online! That's because it's amazing.

That's all,

My Chambray!

{scarf/shoes: Primark, shirt: H&M, pullover/jeans: New Look}

I did not feel that, as a part-time fashion blogger, my life was complete. Why? I did not have a chambray shirt. Situation now happily rectified :) I found it in H&M for £15 (awesome, right?) and it actually fit how I wanted it too! Seriously, I am in love :) I have already found about sixty billion outfit combinations, so be prepared to see this guy many more times! And if/when I ever get round to doing Kendi's 30x30 then this will kind of be the only shirt I need :P

See y'all for insta-saturday tomorrow,

Winter Edition: Day 3> Try a trend

I thought I'd go a bit wild with this prompt and hop on the 'bright and crazy coloured tights' bandwagon! I bought these bright orange ones after seeing Carrie's (wow, that makes me feel like that girl on 'Mean Girls') and decided that they were far too bright and garish to wear! But I figured that this prompt gives me an excuse :P That and the extremely important law exam!

It felt strange but somehow liberating, taking pictures at college! Oliver took them for me in one of our free periods, so not many people were around, but I still had a few funny looks!

Sorry about missing yesterday, I figured I'd better revise instead :(

Baggy jumper and playing with Lightroom

Oliver made me download Lightroom 4 beta and I have just been playing with it all day. I have kind of gone a bit OTT but hey, I'm still getting the hang of it! I look a bit miserable, but that was just because I was trying to take some serious photos! When will I accept that I can't be a model and just smile and be cute? :P

Day 21> Work it!

For the last day of the 21 day challenge and therefore the last day of my life as a fashion blogger (though I may try out Kendi's 30 for 30 at some point in the future..) I thought I might as well wear something a bit different to what I normally wear. By accident I had a bit of an Alexa Chung thing going on, but I kinda like it. I really wanted to wear brogues, but I never got round to buying any, so instead I wore my mother's walking boots- they are pretty awesome! I never thought something that clunky would be so comfortable but they are fleece lined and amazing :D

So goodbye fashion world, I'll catch you around someday. Until then, back to lifestyle blogging :)

Day 12> Jazz up jeans

Ok, I know that the jeans aren't really the main feature of my outfit, but I'm wearing them, aren't I? :) I decided to jazz up my Primarni jeans with the dusty pink sheer shirt and matching patterned scarf I got from Lena for Christmas and add random accessories such as the chunky leather watch and ring I got in the New look sale :)

I know it doesn't show massively in the photos, but it was actually miserably drizzling when I took these photos, so I decided to have some fun with the timer and pretend that I was being dragged away by/singing in the rain :P Oh and who would have known that an umbrella is the perfect way to focus a camera whilst doing self-timer! I'm learning fast.

Say :)

Ps. Oliver, I know you will be annoyed with my "photo face" smile, but it was raining!

Day 9> Monochrome

I totally photo-bombed his macro picture of a berry! He wasn't happy- it was the only one which properly in focus :P

Today was monochrome, and it expressly said that it didn't have to be black and white, but I chose that as my colour scheme anyway :P I'm wearing yet another shirt (stripy this time) and my whole outfit appears to be crumpled but at least I look skinny with the belt :)

Thanks Oliver for the photos! I don't really know how to use my new camera very well and Oliver was round my house so I made him take the pictures today :P

Bye for now,

Say :)

PS. Thank you for any comments people have been making :) Its only a baby blog at the moment and I have a total of 3 followers, so every comment means a lot :)
