I have a 20 year old sister and it scares me.

My big sister, Annie, turns twenty today. You might remember her from this post. Well, she's all better now :) It's weird because when you are a kid you assume that you will be "grown up" and "mature" by the time you turn twenty, but yet it doesn't really work like that; I'm sure Annie feels exactly as she did yesterday. Anyway, rant over, a very happy birthday to my amazing sister!!

We all went to visit her which was pretty cool because her little town/city thing was all dressed up for Christmas, so for the first time this warm, unseasonably sunny winter, it actually felt like December!

It was really cool, too, because my mother got me a gorgeous necklace from the Christmas market as my confirmation present :) Thanks mum!

We really are related, by the way, even though we don't look anything like each other!

So, all that's left to say is: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNIE!! We love you :)

Trip to somewhere anonymous/ Review of "In Time"

As we had a free day today, Oliver and I decided to travel to somewhere secret on the train, go shopping and watch a film. Luckily we both have money at the moment, as I got paid last week and Oliver always seems to have money, which always makes going out more fun. I wish it wasn't that way, that we weren't totally dependent on the socially constructed idea of money, but it's true :P

I got a whole bunch of basic tops from Primark like these two:

And Oliver very kindly bought me this dress from Republic because he is the most amazing (if slightly ill and grumpy at the moment) boyfriend in the world :)

We went to see 'In Time' which was actually really good. The concept, the acting, the setting, the cinematography. All pretty awesome. The idea of it is that the currency of the world is time, so the poor have to use their time for things like bills and food and generally die really young, whilst the rich have all the time in the world. It showed how the divide between rich and poor varies but just that in real life, if you run out of money, you don't die, you just end up in debt. I thought Justin Timberlake played the lead really well- he is a much better actor than musician in my opinion! And it was nice to see Amanda Seyfried in the role of a spoilt brat, she performed beautifully, and it was interesting to watch her play someone who wasn't just sweet and naive and good all the time. And she was right, as she said in the film, they made a really cute couple. There were some really heart-wrenching moments in the 'slum' area and I did cry in a variety of places. I never fell to pieces, though, which was good.

Overall I would give it a 9.5/10. A really good, thought-provoking film that remained with me long after we left the cinema. A great way to spend an afternoon. Though, as Oliver said, it might not be quite so enchanting on a small screen, a bit like 'Children of Men'.

In terms of my NaNoWriMo, I have now reached 15,000 words! With help from energy drinks!

They taste foul but definitely do the job! Nom nom nom caffeine :P

Ta ta for now,

Hey :)
I realised from my stats that I have some Russian viewers so:
"вы для читать мой блог"
I have no idea if that is an accurate translation of 'thankyou for reading my blog' but it was worth a try. Babelfish can only get you so far.

Anyway, today I wanted to share with you my new found obsession with shoes. Most women have this desire for shoes embedded deep within them from a young age, but I didn't. I was a bit of a tomboy to tell you the truth. But I thought I'd share with you today my growing shoe collection, just randomly :P

It may not look like many to you, I don't know how many pairs of shoes you own, but I have ten pairs, excluding flip flops, pumps etc. However, 7 of them were purchased in the last 6 months which shows a massive increase in my spending. I am currently trying to thrift a nice pair of leather boots, but the sizes are always wrong :(

So... that's it for today! Just some slightly artistic pictures of my shoes. But I thought I would also share a (really bad quality) picture of Oliver's cat, Squeak, and me today- just because he is adorable and this blog post has been boring :P

A day break :)

Today as my day off from work, I decided to finish this dress remodel that I started a while back. I wont post the dress just yet as I haven't got awesome model-esque photos of my 'new' dress. However, once my amazing photographer boyfriend has taken them, you'll be the first to know. Anyway, we had a fun trip to the material shop where I spent 82p on lace trim, and here are the pictures :) November still has that Autumn loveliness, but yet it's kinda grey and dull :( Oh and there are no pictures of the actual lace so I don't give away my dress :P That's a surprise for another day!

Oh and I'm on 8,613 words so I'm right on track :P

It's been too long :P

I haven't blogged since Saturday :O My internet is temperamental :( Instead of blogging I have been doing cool things like...

Playing on MacBooks in the iPod shop:

(That's me as a chipmunk)

And playing on guitars worth a LOT more money than we have :P

Oliver really liked this Taylor guitar, I mean it's only just over £1,300 :P When we have lots of money and amazing jobs and win the lottery, we will go and buy a Taylor each, one in koa wood, just like Taylor Swift's.

Other than that we had a grape fight where Oliver ended up smacking his head on the fridge and I have worked for an almost illegally low sum of money- though everyone who works there is nice and I enjoy it :) The shop itself is a bit of a joke because the stuff they give us to sell is so tacky, in fact we have a new bra range designed by Katie Price, doesn't that say enough?

I have been playing with photoshop again, though this one was pretty quick, just over layering a starry sky on to a picture of Oliver- he just randomly climbed on top of a garage on this photoshoot and I snapped his picture :D

Catch y'all later,
